About Green Country Report
Green Country Report is an independent online news site for northeast Oklahoma, the corner of the state Oklahomans call Green Country. We follow the stories moving through Broken Arrow, Owasso, Bixby, Jenks, Sand Springs, Claremore, Bartlesville, Muskogee, Tahlequah, Stillwater, Pryor, Sapulpa and the Grand Lake country, with Tulsa at the center of it all. Each day we gather the region's news, its businesses and main streets, the heritage of its tribal nations and Route 66, and the lakes, rivers and prairie that give the place its name.
Green Country Report is a reading site. We are not a TV or radio station and we do not broadcast anything. We just think this part of Oklahoma deserves to be told big, the way a good documentary would tell it.
The Towns is our field guide to the region: where each town sits, what it is known for and a quick way to find its latest news.
